Remember when I posted a month ago about how I had "free time?"
It is either feast or famine these days! While I had been let go I obviously decided to get involved in many things to make myself feel like I had a purpose while I searched for other career opportunities.
-Producing, Writing and Performing in a glam rock puppet musical for the whole family, "Rock Time 2009" which earned us a Critics Pick and a 4N review from Now Magazine's Jon Kaplan. Very enjoyable to do, and a chance to work with many talented folks! :)

-Performing (well, improvising!) in the next Tony and Tina's style event, "Bingo: The Show!" one of the most talked about shows at the 2009 Toronto Fringe Festival. Best described as a "immersive improvised environment" we transformed our Fringe venue to resemble a bingo hall. Our program also doubled as our church newsletter, and we played bingo while performing and making people laugh. We got 4 Star's from Eye magazine, an impressive write-up in the Toronto Star and we were mentioned in the World Bingo News.
-Teaching alongside the lovely Alison Broverman in our Script Superheroes Scriptwriting Workshop For Kids as a part of the FringeKids. This year we saw three amazing plays come to life, "Mean Mary and Sad Sam," "The Knight Who Slayed The Dragon" and "The Adventures of Lightbulb Man, Part 2." We did a reading for adults at the Tranzac club who enjoyed hearing the plays as much as the kids did! We did a reading for the kids with the same fantastic actors (with one switch) and the kids got to decide what costume pieces the actors should wear when they read the kids scenes, which was very fun.
So while this was all lined up, I got a call asking me to come back to work! Woo hoo!
Well, at least temporarily! Anyway, it's work so I had to take it. Assisting in the coordination of the biggest event for kids at the CBC! It was by far the biggest, most successful incarnation of the event I had ever seen.
This made for a SPREAD THIN K.McG! I didn't even feel like I could take the time to appreciate these successes!
Now it's over. And I'm a little bit sad, but my health has sprung back!
The thing about being a K.McG, is it doesn't take a lot of time before the next adventure happens... and I've got a few adventures I'm ready to reel in-- but I'll definitely be more balanced in the approach, so I can enjoy the success if it happens.
