About
Kristen McGregor is a M.A. Candidate at Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City, currently working towards understanding how we can teach children to be better problem solvers through media. Prior to her time in New York, she could be found building playgrounds around Ontario as the producer of TVO Kids’ latest series, Giver, with Sinking Ship Entertainment. As the Creative Producer on Season III of Sinking Ship’s award winning National Geographic Kids show, Are we there yet? World Adventure, Kristen had the amazing opportunity of creating educational adventures across the globe. Kristen got her start in children’s media at Kids’ CBC, where she worked for four years (and remains connected as the “voice” behind the Kids’ CBC Twitter account). A Toronto/New York resident, Kristen continues to write children’s television (Babar and the Adventures of Badou, Pirates: Adventures in Art), tells childhood stories on the radio (Definitely Not the Opera), and teaches scriptwriting to awesome kids. When not working in the world of children’s media, Kristen can usually be found admiring dogs, performing comedy, singing karaoke, or eating brunch.
